Travelling to Terminal 4

Heathrow Connect

We recommend that passengers travelling in groups or with heavy items of luggage should alight from the coach at Terminal 1 and use the Heathrow Connect train to reach Terminal 4.

Passengers landing at Terminal 4 should travel in the carriages at the rear of the train and alight at Terminals 1,2,3. Follow signs for Terminals 2 & 3 but as soon as you see signs for buses and Underground follow these instead.

Heathrow Express and Heathrow Connect

The Heathrow Express operates between Terminal 5 and Terminals 1,2,3, where you can connect with the Heathrow Connect train to reach Terminal 4. However, as both services operate every 15 minutes, this method will not normally be quicker.

Buses 482 and 490

There are frequent Bus links between Terminal 5 to Terminal 4. The 482 and 490 services depart from stand 7 at Terminal 5 Bus and Coach Station, which is directly beneath the Departures level (where railair,com coaches arrive). Use the elevators to access the ground floor. The 482 and 490 operate up to 8 times an hour and should take just over 10 minutes to get to Terminal 4. Both are free of charge.

On journeys from Terminal 4 to Terminal 5, the 482 and 490 set down on the same level as railair.com coaches to Reading (stop 9). When boarding at Terminal 4, please check with the driver that they are heading towards Terminal 5.

Information for the elderly or disabled when accessing Terminal 4

Passengers using the bus services between Terminals 4 and 5 should consider the amount of luggage that they have as this may not be convenient for the elderly or disabled. However, there is a BAA Help Bus service which will take you directly to Terminal 4 from various locations around the airport. Please see www.baa.com or call 020 8745 6261 for further information.
